What it is
ZERONOISE is a map of recorded DJ and radio sets, built from published tracklists. A link between two songs means that people played them close together in real sets. It does not mean they sound alike.
Songs sit on a wheel. Each sector is a Discogs style, such as Techno, House or Ambient, and the more mixes a song appears in, the nearer the centre it sits.
What is on it
- 1,439,859 songs in the catalog, 50,000 of them on the wheel.
- 34,658 channels: radio stations, shows and other series that publish mixes.
- 575 genres and styles from Discogs, used to place songs and to filter them.
How to use it
Pick a sector, search, or filter by channel, label, genre, style, year or play count. Select a song to hear it in the mix that played it; mixes play in SoundCloud’s player. Follow its links to the songs played next to it, and save what you find. Every filtered view has an address you can share.
Where the data comes from
From published tracklists of DJ mixes and radio shows. Genres, styles and original release years come from Discogs, whose data dumps are released under CC0. Cover art and previews come from Deezer. Song, artist and label names and cover art belong to their owners and are shown to describe records. See data sources and credits and terms and privacy.
Who it is for
People who dig: curators, selectors, collectors, and anyone who wants to know where a record was played and what came after it.
